Lazy Jane is a country music duo delivering a unique, edgy take on the genre with its soaring melodies, fierce guitar playing, and impressive vocal blend. The duo was formed in the summer of 2016 by the now husband and wife pair of Madison and Tristen Smith after fans of their pre-duo solo careers demanded to see the two perform together. Madison and Tristen arranged a few shows and received not only great feedback, but had the most fun they ever had performing. They had each other, but what about a name? Drawing inspiration from a poem in Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends, the pair loved the idea of having a name that seemed a little ironic given the energetic dynamic of their live shows. With a name and sound, they began cutting their teeth on the road from Portland, Oregon to Clifen, Ireland. In its short history, Lazy Jane has performed shows not only in countless living rooms and dive bars, but also at notable venues and festivals such as the Capitol Theater (Wheeling, WV), Bluebird Cafe (Nashville, TN), and Jamboree in the Hills (St. Clairsville, OH). Currently, Lazy Jane is recording new music for their upcoming EP, Sounds Like You (co-produced with country duo The Swon Brothers), coming Fall 2021.
